Jeff Bass
Econometrics wizard, Raspberry Pi hacker, computer vision practitioner.
Jeff Bass started coding in 1970, writing lab data transformations in Fortran and assembly language. After graduate training in econometrics at the University of North Carolina, he founded a statistical software company in 1982. He worked for biotechnology company Amgen for over 20 years, doing statistics, medical economics, and data science work. Since retiring in 2013, Jeff has been building software and hardware projects to support his small urban permaculture farm in Southern California. He is developing computer vision programs running on a cluster of Raspberry Pis and Macs to read the water meter, track the weather, identify wildlife and manage irrigation. He also enjoys bicycle touring.
